Spins: “Sleepwalkin'” re-done by Modest Mouse

I travelled for about 30 days when I was a teen, trippin’ across the American Southwest — and this album was a staple;

I remember sneaking onto Boulder, Colorado’s state college campus in the wee hours one night, listening to this, & a family of raccoons – the father especially, I took him as – approached me on my secluded bench, arms outstretched, begging for some buttered & garlicked French bread . . .  I gave him a big, generous portion and & he hurriedly split it between his raccoon kits & raccoon wife, & the kits seemed impressed & happy with their dear old Dad. It was kind of beautiful . . .  clouds, Moon & Stars were all out, wavering behind a canopy of campus trees . . .  in Boulder . . .  in Nature in the middle of the city.

Was a beautiful experience travelling – The Southwest is achingly beautiful – The Southwest I saw.

. . . ‘ Was ‘Sleepwalkin’ . . . (I was) Sleeeip-walkin’ . . . ‘ =)
